Preparing for the Messiah - Day 9
All Kings Shall Bow
Psalm 72:11 (KJV)
“Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.”
Introduction
Psalm 72 is a royal psalm — a prayer for a righteous King whose reign would bring justice, peace, and blessing.
But it reaches far beyond any earthly ruler.
This verse points prophetically to Jesus, the King above all kings, the One before whom every nation, every leader, and every heart will one day bow.
In a world filled with shifting powers, loud voices, and uncertain leadership, Psalm 72:11 lifts our eyes to the One whose authority will never be shaken.
Reflection
“All kings shall fall down before him…”
Not some kings.
Not only the good ones.
Not only the powerful ones.
All.
Every throne will bow.
Every crown will be laid down.
Every nation will acknowledge the rightful King.
This is the promise of Scripture:
Jesus’ reign is not symbolic, seasonal, or partial —
it is absolute, eternal, and unstoppable.
Right now, the world may look chaotic.
It may feel like darkness has influence,
or that truth is slipping through the cracks.
But when everything around us seems uncertain, Psalm 72:11 reminds us that:
Jesus is still King.
His kingdom is advancing.
His authority is secure.
His victory is already written.
And one day, every power that once stood proud will kneel in worship.
This verse is also deeply personal.
Because the question for us today is not whether Jesus is King —
but whether we are living like He is.
Where does He want to reign in your heart more fully?
What part of your life still holds tightly to its own crown?
Where do you need to surrender in trust, worship, or obedience?
When we bow willingly now, we live with joy instead of fear…
because our King is good, righteous, and faithful.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
You are the King above all kings and the Lord above all lords.
Help me to bow my heart before You today —
not out of pressure, but out of love and trust.
Reign in every part of my life,
and teach me to live with confidence in Your sovereign rule.
Amen.
