God With Us
Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Introduction
Long before a manger was filled, long before shepherds heard angels sing, long before Mary felt the first flutter of life in her womb — God spoke a promise. Not just a prophecy, but a sign of His heart:
He would come near.
Isaiah 7:14 is more than a prediction; it is the declaration of God’s desire to dwell with His people. Immanuel means “God with us,” and those three words carry the weight of heaven’s love.
This was not a distant rescue or a symbolic gesture.
This was God stepping into our world — fully present, fully invested, fully human, fully divine.
Reflection
What does it mean that God chose to be with us?
Not above us.
Not beyond us.
Not looking down from a distance.
With us.
In our mess.
In our need.
In our longing.
In our weakness.
In our everyday rhythms and forgotten places.
Jesus came as Immanuel to show us that God is not intimidated by our brokenness or disappointed by our frailty. He draws near — not reluctantly, but intentionally.
Sometimes we assume God is only with us when we feel strong, spiritual, or successful. But the miracle of Immanuel is this:
God is with us even when we feel anything but worthy.
This verse invites us to notice His nearness in the places we often overlook:
in quiet mornings, in unexpected grace, in moments of conviction, in the stillness after a long day, in the comfort that arrives without words.
As you move through today, ask yourself:
Where do I need to remember that God is with me — right here, right now?
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for coming as Immanuel — God with us.
Help me to recognize Your presence in the ordinary places of my life.
Draw near to my heart today and let Your nearness bring peace, courage, and hope.

Where in your life do you most need to feel God’s nearness today?
How has God shown you His presence recently, even in subtle ways?
What changes when you truly believe that God is “with you” in every moment?
God with us. Oh, to actually realize that deeply. When I started to fully understand God came to be with us and remains with us through the Holy Spirit, I realized that calling on God was not about “the man upstairs”, but a father right there to help me when I felt shaky. And to direct my path that I may walk in His grace and glory.
