Honoring the Body God Designed: A Biblical Path to Restoration
Week 2: Move - Stewarding the Strength God Gave You
Stewarding the Strength God Gave You
After nourishment comes movement—but not the kind driven by pressure, punishment, or perfection.
Week 2: Move invites us to rethink movement through a biblical lens. This week is not about pushing harder or chasing fitness goals. It’s about stewarding the strength God has already given us and learning to move our bodies in ways that honor Him.
Scripture shows us that God designed our bodies for purpose, endurance, and joyful movement. Movement, in this week’s focus, becomes a spiritual practice—a way to relieve stress, care for our health, and glorify God with gratitude rather than guilt.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” — Psalm 28:7 (KJV)
How Move Builds on Nourish
Week 1 taught us to receive.
Week 2 teaches us to respond.
Once we begin nourishing our body, mind, and spirit with what God provides, we’re better able to move—not out of obligation, but out of strength that comes from the Lord. This week gently shifts us from stillness into action, reminding us that movement is not separate from faith—it can be an expression of it.
Movement is no longer something we “have to do.”
It becomes something we get to offer.
What You Learn in Week 2
Throughout this week, the devotional walks you through movement as worship and stewardship, helping you understand:
That strength comes from the Lord, not from motivation or energy levels
How God lights your path and guides you step by step—physically and spiritually
Why endurance matters more than speed or intensity
How even ordinary movement can glorify God
That God strengthens you with patience and joy on difficult days
Why movement can be a celebration of life rather than a burden
This week removes comparison and replaces it with compassion. It invites you to move within your limits, trusting that God meets you exactly where you are.
What Movement Looks Like in This Journey
In Restored, movement is never framed as punishment or pressure. Instead, it is woven into everyday life—walking, stretching, breathing, cleaning, stepping outside, or simply choosing to engage your body with gratitude.
Each day includes:
Scripture to ground your movement in truth
A reflection to shape your mindset
A prayer to invite God into your strength and weakness
Space for gratitude, daily prayer, and journaling, so you can reflect on what God is teaching you as you move through your day
Movement becomes less about what you do and more about how and why you do it.
Your Invitation for This Week
As you step into Week 2, hold this question with you:
“How can I steward the strength God has given me today?”
That answer may change from day to day—and that’s okay. Some days it will look energetic. Other days it will look gentle. Both honor God when done with intention and gratitude.
This week is not about pressing beyond your limits.
It’s about walking forward—one faithful step at a time.
What’s one simple way you moved your body this week that felt honoring rather than exhausting?
