I've read through the different scriptures surrounding the Passover Feast, The Last Supper, and Jesus being the Messiah. This time of year is extremely important and special. I'm studying the scriptures this year through the lense of food and health. I've also realized that many lessons are taught by watching what Jesus did, and what he said to whom.

I am in awe how Jesus knew, was preparing and prepared, plus told his disciples what was going to happen, because it was written. Because Jesus knew his Identity and what He had to do, and he did this all for me and you.

Great article. It makes me think how I can walk better in my identity. Plus, how grateful I am for Him.

Interesting. So was the leavened bread like sourdough?

I would think so. Some older cookbooks refer to it as wild yeast too. Try this. Take some flour (fresh ground works better) and a little warm water, and let it sit. It should start to get a little bubble or rise. If you make the mixture so you can work it like dough, then bake or fry, it will also rise or bubble a bit too.

Thanks for asking. I could talk about this all day. :)

Thank you! I’m curious, what have you found around food and health in regards to this time of year? I’m always looking to learn more about what scripture says.

There is so much to unpack about this time of the year it’s crazy. The Lord has pressed me to look more about the bread and the wheat. In scripture He talks about unleavened bread (Matzah) and bread. Back then if you had time to rise the bread it was risen and if no time it was unleavened. Either way it was nourishment.

They didn’t have yeasts and additives. They had real whole wheat grains. Not modified, not something to raise your bread faster. I believe when you eat as the bible, it becomes simpler, healthier and align with the Lord.

This was so beautifully written. That simple truth, “He knew… and still He walked forward,” really stayed with me. It shifts everything from seeing the cross as something that happened to Him, to something He willingly stepped into out of love. I also loved how you connected that to our own lives, especially the reminder that uncertainty doesn’t mean God is absent. That part felt very personal. It’s easy to feel lost in seasons that don’t make sense, but this was such a gentle reminder that He is still preparing us, even when we can’t see it. The imagery of cultivation, planting, pruning, waiting, was especially meaningful. It helped me see those slower, harder seasons in a different light. Thank you for writing this so thoughtfully.
